Tottenham Hotspur overwhelmed 10-man Arsenal to reignite their Champions League qualification hopes with an emphatic 3-0 victory in a pulsating north London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg put Spurs ahead with a deflected opener in the 14th minute before Bukayo Saka leveled for Arsenal 12 minutes later. But Kai Havertz restored Tottenham's lead just before the half-hour mark and Harry Kane struck twice in the second half to wrap up a memorable win for the home side.
The victory lifts Tottenham to within one point of fourth-placed Arsenal, who have now lost three of their last four Premier League games. Spurs have a game in hand on their local rivals and will be confident of securing a top-four finish, which would see them qualify for next season's Champions League.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have seen their lead at the top of the table cut to just two points and will need to bounce back quickly when they face Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.
